Basketball: U.S. women crush Angola; men prep for Tunisia

07/30/2012

LONDON – The U.S. Olympic women’s basketball team wasted no time in downing over-matched Angola on Monday in London, winning by a final score of 90-38.

Candace Parker scored 14 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to pace an American team that is now 3-0 all-time in Olympic competition against teams from Africa. The lopsided nature of the victory is nothing new either – Team USA has won by an average margin of 56 points in those three contests.
