WASHINGTON, DC – Suffice it to say, nobody pushed the easy button ahead of third-seeded Marquette’s exploits last weekend in Lexington.
First, it was Vander Blue’s bucket at the buzzer that allowed the Golden Eagles to escape against a game Davidson team in the second round. Then, Brad Stevens and the Butler Bulldogs gave Buzz Williams’ team all it could handle in one of the best games of the third round.
But, as is often said this time of year, it’s all about one thing: survive and advance. Marquette will attempt to do that again on Thursday night against a Miami team that’s been on a roll.
Ahead of the game, our Ian Eagle had a chance to talk to Buzz Williams about his team’s tournament so far and facing the Hurricanes.
