Leaders Chelsea were held to a 1-1 draw by Southampton, but the Blues still managed to increase their edge at the top of the Barclays Premier League table to six points thanks to second-place Manchester City’s 1-0 defeat at the hands of Burnley.
Elsewhere, Arsenal and Manchester United won by identical 3-nil scorelines over West Ham and Tottenham respectively. The Gunners are third, seven points adrift of Chelsea having played a game more. The Red Devils sit in fourth place a point behind Arsenal.
