ST. LOUIS, MO – The St. Louis Rams defeated the Seattle Seahawks 34-31 in overtime in the season-opener Sunday thanks to a Greg Zuerlein field goal and a big stop of Marshawn Lynch on fourth down.
Special teams played a big role throughout the game, as both teams earlier scored touchdowns on punt returns and Seattle unsuccessfully tried an onside kick at the start of overtime.
The Rams drove down the field but had to settle for a go-ahead field goal. On the ensuing possession, Seattle moved the ball well but Lynch was stuffed on fourth and one to end the game.
Kevin Lee and Ross Tucker called the action on Westwood One.
