ST. LOUIS, MO – The final score might tell a different story, but there was nothing easy about second-seeded Xavier’s 71-53 victory over fifteenth-seeded Weber State.
The Minutemen took advantage of a short-handed Wildcat squad, as the the Big Sky Champions played most of the game without their starting point guard, Ryan Richardson–who took a bad fall early in the first half and was forced to sit for the remainder. Forward James Farr came off the bench to lead Xavier with 18 points, while also pulling down 15 rebounds.
Senior forward Joel Bolomboy, a projected NBA draft pick this Spring, led the Weber State attack with fourteen points and ten rebounds in what would ultimately be his last game in a Wildcat uniform.
Wayne Larrivee and Will Perdue called the action on Westwood One Sports.
