Derek Rackley

Derek Rackley returns in 2018 for his sixth year as an analyst for Westwood One’s NCAA Football coverage.

An eight-year NFL veteran as a tight end and long snapper, Rackley spent the first six years of his career with the Atlanta Falcons (2000-2005) before playing for the Seattle Seahawks in his final two seasons (2006-2007).

Rackley was born and raised near Minneapolis and was the captain of both his football and basketball team in high school. He played four years in college at the University of Minnesota, beginning his career as a quarterback before switching to tight end and becoming the team’s long snapper. He was a four-time letterman and an academic All-American in his senior year.

Since retiring from the NFL, Rackley has worked for Comcast Sports Southeast (CSS) and the Big Ten Network as a studio host/analyst and color commentator for football games. He is also the owner of Sugar Hill Fit Body Boot Camp in the Atlanta suburbs.
