It’s accepted: football is a dangerous sport and players are going to get injured. Concussions and ligament ailments are common enough that we’ve become numb to the stories – which is what makes what happened Arizona Cardinals safety Rashad Johnson in Sunday’s game against the Saints so shocking.
Johnson was covering a punt when he hurt his hand. He saw some blood, but didn’t think much of it until he got to the sideline. When he removed his glove, he found that the tip of his middle finger remained in the glove.
In an exclusive interview with WestwoodOne Monday Night Football host Jim Gray, Johnson explained what happened, how he’s feeling a day later and much more.
