While Joe Namath and the Jets have a legitimate claim on the biggest upset in Super Bowl history, the Los Angeles Raiders have an argument of their own.
In Super Bowl XVIII, the Raiders faced off against a Washington Redskins offense that was at the time the most prolific in NFL history. You wouldn’t have known it after the dust settled at Tampa Stadium, as L.A. claimed a 38-9 win. Mike Haynes had an interception in that game and was a big reason why Joe Theismann and the Washington offense never got going.
