PITTSBURGH – The Chicago defense forced five Pittsburgh turnovers as the Bears improved to 3-0 on the season with a 40-23 victory on Sunday Night Football.
Major Wright and Julius Peppers each scored defensive touchdowns for a Bears team that scored 40 points while gaining just 258 yards on offense. But, perhaps more importantly, Chicago didn’t turn the ball over.
Jay Cutler was 20 of 30 for 159 yards and a touchdown pass, but the play everyone will be talking about was a 13-yard fourth-quarter scramble in which the quarterback lowered his shoulder and ran over a Steelers defender.
Pittsburgh dropped to 0-3 on the year.
Kevin Kugler and James Lofton called the action on WestwoodOne Sports.
