PHILADELPHIA – Duke advanced the Division I men’s lacrosse national championship game with a 16-14 win over Cornell in Saturday’s first semifinal.
The Blue Devils dominated the third quarter, outscoring the Big Red 7-1 in the period to take a 14-7 lead then held on as Cornell rallied late.
Jordan Wolf scored four goals and added an assist in the victory. Cornell’s Rob Pannell scored five goals and added two assists in defeat to become the NCAA’s all-time points leader.
Duke will face the winner of the Syracuse-Denver game in Monday’s final.
