The 2014 Sochi Olympic Winter Games got off to the best start possible for the Americans on Saturday as Sage Kotsenburg threw down a gold-medal winning run in the first-ever men’s snowboard slopestyle competition.
It was also the first gold medal awarded here in Sochi, making Sage only the fourth American in history to win the first gold medal at an Olympic Games.
After he stood atop the podium in the Olympic Park and received his gold medal, Sage stopped by our Olympic broadcast studio to talk with Kevin Kugler and John Tautges.
