TALLAHASSEE, FL – It wasn’t easy, but Sean Maguire filled in admirably for the suspended Jameis Winston as top-ranked Florida State rallied for a 23-17 overtime victory against Clemson on Saturday night.
Karlos Williams had the winning touchdown after the Seminoles defense had stopped Clemson on fourth-and-inches on its only possession in the extra session.
Maguire was 21 for 39 for 305 yards in the victory, including a 74-yard game-tying touchdown pass to Rashad Greene midway through the fourth quarter. But Maguire also had two interceptions, including one late in the fourth quarter that looked like it would gift the Tigers victory. But a Clemson fumble inside the red zone allowed FSU to run out the clock and take their chances in overtime.
Jason Benetti and Chris Doering called the action on Westwood One Sports.
