PHILADELPHIA – Justin Holl scored a shorthanded goal with less than one second to play as Minnesota defeated North Dakota 2-1 Thursday night to advance to the championship game at the Frozen Four.
The teams were scoreless before Sam Warning broke the deadlock at the 10:51 mark of the third period, but the Golden Gophers weren’t ahead long. Connor Gaardner got the game-tying goal for North Dakota 32 seconds later.
They’ll play Union for the national championship on Saturday night.
