OKLAHOMA CITY – Florida picked up right where it left off a year ago at the Women’s College World Series on Thursday, opening play at ASA Hall of Fame Stadium with a dominating 7-2 win over Tennessee.
The defending national champs are looking for a return to the best-of-three championship series, which begins Monday night.
The Gators will take on another SEC foe on Friday in LSU, which beat Auburn 6-1 in the second game of the day. Auburn and Tennessee will play Saturday in an elimination game.
In action on Thursday night, Michigan and UCLA got wins over Alabama and Oregon, respectively. The Wolverines will take on the Bruins Friday night, while the Crimson Tide and Ducks will play an elimination game on Saturday.
