Jamal Mashburn

Jamal Mashburn joins the Westwood One NCAA Radio Network as an analyst for the regular season and the NCAA Tournament. Mashburn played 11 NBA seasons, including stints with the Dallas Mavericks, Miami Heat and Charlotte Hornets.  Mashburn was a prolific scorer, averaging more than 19 points per game to go along with 5.3 rebounds and 4.0 assists over the course of his career.

Mashburn was a collegiate star at the University of Kentucky, becoming the school’s fourth-leading scorer and a consensus First-Team All-American his junior year. A native of New York City, Jamal led Cardinal Hayes High School to the city championship in his senior year (1990).

Since his retirement, Mashburn has become a very successful businessman. Among other ventures, Jamal owns the largest Toyota dealer in the state of Kentucky and hundreds of restaurants around the country. He also served as an NBA analyst for ESPN from 2006 – 2011.
