OMAHA — Konner Wade fired a five-hit shutout and the Arizona Wildcats are one win away from the College World Series’ finals after downing Pac-12 rivals UCLA 4-0 on Sunday night.
Wade’s gem was the first CWS shutout for Arizona since Craig Lefferts managed the feat against Michigan way back in 1980.
UCLA drops into the loser’s bracket and will play an elimination game with Florida State on Tuesday night. Arizona will be off until Thursday when they’ll face the winner of that game.
Kevin Kugler and John Bishop called the action.
