2004 was the year of the Huskies, the first and only time the men’s and women’s NCAA tournaments were won by the same school in the same year.
The Connecticut men’s team entered the tournament as a number-two seed and winner of the Big East Tournament, while the women were also a #2 after finishing 25-4 in the regular season.
In the end, both Jim Calhoun’s men and Geno Auriemma’s women ended up second-to-none.
